Play The Park
City Park has offered New Orleans' area golfers affordable and enjoyable golf for more than a century, and has been the home to a variety of professional and amateur tournaments.
Historically, the Park’s golf offerings included three 18-hole courses, a 100-stall driving range, golf clubhouse and a variety of support buildings. During that time, the courses served as a primary revenue source for the entire City Park complex.
For many New Orleans' citizens and visitors, City Park was synonymous with great golf. And then came Katrina...
Get Ready To Play The Park!
Katrina devastated City Park. Enough so that all three courses closed immediately thereafter. Today, renovations continue on the North Course, in preparation for an August 30, 2008 reopening of the North Course. The other courses will be renovated and re-opened at a future date.
Working closely with the team from Billy Casper Golf - one of the nation's preeminent municipal golf course operators - City Park staff and BCG's on-site managers are busily preparing 18 holes and the drivinng range for play starting in late August. Are you ready to Play The Park? We are ready to welcome you as our guest!
Curious About What’s Going On?
If you visit City Park's North Course, you'll see a frenzy of activity. Feel free to drop in and visit the team in the driving range building for updates about the golf course, or sign up for our weekly update for more detailed information.
But please remember – just like your lawn, when the course is growing-in and the plants are new, we need all our visitors to be very careful. Please be sure to stay off of the grounds during the renovation - for your own safety and for the health of your new course.
